Meet the Teachers

ĀTMĀ grows its teaching community deliberately — each teacher grounded in ongoing study, personal practice, and a shared commitment to supporting students with care, curiosity, and respect for the traditions of yoga.

We invite you to explore the teaching community at ĀTMĀ and discover what supports your practice.

Chandler Lennon

Chandler is a lifelong student of yoga and a teacher whose practice draws on āsana, prāṇāyāma & breath work, and dhyāna (meditation) as interconnected aspects of a broader study. He is particularly interested in how traditional yogic practices support presence and self-understanding outside the studio — how practice becomes something you carry, not just something you do. His classes invite curiosity and continued exploration, encouraging students to find what resonates and return to it.

Founder & Teacher
Teacher Danielle Tideman in Viparita Virabhadrasana among autumn trees, warm golden backlight

Danielle Tideman

Danielle has been teaching yoga in Hoboken and Jersey City for over eight years, with training that spans Vinyāsa, Restorative, and Pre & Postnatal instruction. Her classes are built on the belief that practice can be both welcoming and substantive — accessible without sacrificing depth. She remains a dedicated student herself, continually seeking out new teachers and approaches to bring back to the room.

Her training has been gathered the way she teaches — studio by studio, teacher by teacher: Training — 200-hr YTT · Vinyāsa · Restorative · Pre & Postnatal instruction · teaching in Hoboken & Jersey City for 8+ years

Teacher
Nandita Shyam in Vṛkṣāsana (tree pose) with hands in prayer, smiling outdoors

Nandita Shyam

Yoga has been part of Nandita's life for as long as she can remember — something she grew up alongside, carried quietly through the years, and eventually returned to as a teacher. She teaches Vinyāsa at ĀTMĀ: classes rooted in breath and shaped by a lifetime of practice. She meets students without expectation, wherever they are in their relationship with yoga.

Her formal training rests on a longer foundation of lived practice:

Teacher
Claire Bilavsky in a dancer pose, Naṭarājasana, among tall golden grasses

Claire Bilavsky

Claire came to yoga in 2008 as an extension of the same inquiry that runs through her painting: how the body holds what the mind carries, and how movement can become a form of expression and release. She teaches Sunday Slow Flow at ĀTMĀ drawing on her Spirit Speak and Yin training — classes that ease from gentle, breath-connected movement into long, unhurried holds, inviting students to arrive fully and stay. She brings the same intention to her studio as to her canvas: to make space for something real.

Her training, like her art, has accumulated in layers: Training — 200-hr YTT (Indigo Yoga) · 30-hr Yin · 30-hr Spirit Speak with Seane Corn · trauma-informed yoga · Reiki Level III · anti-oppression & racial equity study with Tamu Lane · teaching since 2018

Teacher

Angelica Rivera

Angelica came to yoga in 2021 and found something she didn't know she was looking for — a practice that offered ground when the mind was loud, and presence when life felt like too much. She teaches Vinyāsa at ĀTMĀ with breath as an anchor throughout: movement and breath as a unified practice, inviting students to discover what opens when the breath leads. She believes the most valuable thing any of us brings to practice is time and attention — and she holds that offering with care.

Her training followed the same arc as her practice — found it, then went deep.

Training — 200-hr RYT · Yin Yoga · Sound Healing · Reiki Level I

Teacher

Monisa Parekh

Monisa Parekh is a Yoga Therapist and a devoted student of the body — trained as an 800-hour IAYT Yoga Therapist and currently pursuing her PhD in Ayur Yoga, with a focus on anatomy, fascia, and the therapeutic applications of practice. She teaches Yang-to-Yin and Pure Yin at ĀTMĀ, drawing on her Myo Yin and Acu Yin training with Jo Phee: classes that work quietly toward fascial mobility, nervous system regulation, and lasting ease. She teaches with the precision of someone who has studied the body deeply — and the patience of someone who trusts it to open in its own time.

Her study of the body is both credentialed and continuing.

Training — 200-hr RYT · 800-hr IAYT Yoga Therapist · Myo Yin, Acu Yin & Chinese medicine/meridian theory (Yinspiration, with Jo Phee) · prāṇāyāma · Sound Healing · MA + PhD in Ayur Yoga, in progress
